New Novel

Ahhhhhh I just realized I never updated you guys to let you know I've switched books. Oopsies. (:
So yes, Alastria is going back on the shelf and I've been working on a new book. I'm trying to decide if I should put it up on Booksie, or if I should just keep it to myself for now... Feedback would be appreciated.
I promise I'll try to update this blog more often. hehe

Stuck

Okay. I'm admitting to everyone who reads this blog(if anyone does?) that I am officially stuck. I have been somewhat stuck for quite some time, but, I am now completely drained of any ideas whatsoever for Alastria. It has such great potential to become a decent novel, but I just don't think I can bring it to its full glory any time soon.
I don't have any plans to give up on my challenge. No, I still plan on having a novel finished by the end of the year. I'm just not so sure that that novel is going to be Alastria.
I think my first complete novel should be one I'm more comfortable writing... Something that comes a little more naturally to me. As much as I love fantasy, I've never been too good at writing it...
Earlier today I decided to start a side story, something I can work on when I'm stuck on Alastria. However, seeing as how it's only been a few hours and I already have more ideas for it than I have in five years for Alastria, I'm considering making it my challenge novel.
This one takes place in the future, basically during apocalyptic times... I can't say a whole lot right now, but trust that it's going to be full of action, kick-butt weapons and maybe a hot, hardcore chick or two. (;

Anyhow, I haven't completely decided to switch yet... I'll sleep on it and let you guys know within the next couple of days.

Dreams and Knowledge

Alastria is coming along quite nicely. Not as quickly as some other stories I've written in the past, but I think it has to do with me putting a lot more effort into it. I'm really going for something top-notch here. Possibly, in the best dreams I can conjure, best-seller worthy. (:
I hope to God I can make that dream happen...

She had always dreamt of this day... Always imagined how amazing it would seem, could always feel the joy of finally learning what was real and what was simply fantasy. As they say, knowledge is power. And she knew there was no greater knowledge than the discernment between truth and lies. The greatest knowledge could only bring the greatest power, she had thought. Funny how dreams and real life are always so completely opposite...

Wow, it has been WAY too long since I last posted. I apologize.
I have been so swamped with school and other stuff. I promise to get back into writing after this weekend.

Busy-ness

Things have been pretty busy lately, and on top of it all I've been really sick. I haven't devoted much time to writing these past couple of days. Hopefully I'll conjure something really amazing to make up for it. (:

Day 5

I apologize for not having posted in a few days.
The book is coming along quite nicely so far. I have the first couple of chapters, now I'm just going back and editing, adding detail, etc.

"...Where do you think fairytales are born? Certainly a man's imagination has its limits. Is Alastria limited to mine?"

Saturday!

Well I stayed up until 3am last night writing. Unfortunately a certain someone came out and told me writing could wait for when the sun comes up, and made me go to bed... lol
I think the book is coming along quite beautifully so far. Possibly my best work yet. Of course, I say that about all of my books within the first few days of starting them... So we'll see.
It is now 12pm. I have until 4pm to write today, so I best get started.

Day 1

Well today has been fairly busy... haven't had a chance to actually sit down and write yet. Although I have typed a sentence or two when I could, and edited a little of what I wrote last night.
Most likely I'll stay up all night writing tonight...(:

OMG. I Have Until the End of the Year to Finish a Book

    Well this is it. I'm setting a goal for myself. I'm going to complete a novel by the end of 2010.
    Even as I'm typing this, I'm realizing how ridiculous this is... I have never in my life finished a single novel I started writing. I have about 15(give or take a couple) currently unfinished novels written by me sitting on my bookshelf right now, and who knows how many others I've started on various computers... But all that is changing right now.
    By the end of the year 2010, I plan to have at least one complete, edited book. Maybe in 2011 I'll even get it published... But that's another challenge.(:
    I have to admit to all of you right now- I am not starting completely from scratch. The book I will be writing is one I started about 4 years ago. I have an outline, a setting, characters, etc. However, I will be completely rewriting it from the very beginning. Prologue, chapters, epilogue, the whole deal.
    So journey with me as I blog about the ease of words flowing from my fingers, the difficulties in how I should word a certain sentence, the amazing ideas as they pop into my mind, the times when I struggle to overcome the writer's block I so often get...
